Squeeze More Time In

The trick to maximising your time in a day isn’t tied to a time machine, neither is it a matrix type concept. And while I’m constantly hear everyone sigh “if only I had more hours in a day” realistically it’s never going to happen. So instead, all you need is a better plan to spend those 24 hours.

1. Cut down your FB time.
Have you had that moment where you’ve logged on and told yourself “oh I’ll just check if I’ve got notifications”. Then you find out that your friend got a new picture and he said something funny. Before you know it, you’ve spent hours clicking in interesting things. Social media takes up more time than you think. So cut your daily time by a third and you would have gained more than three hours by the end of the week.

2. Get your workout in throughout the day.
Instead of having to allocate long hours of workout time. Try to slip in some workout throughout the day. This way, you keep your energy up and you burn those calories off.

3. Set a time limit.
Giving yourself a deadline ensures that you don’t drag your feet with any and every thing you’ve got to complete for that day. It also teaches you to work effectively.

4. Ignore the beep.
The blessing and curse of being connected 24-7. Sometimes it’s worth turning a deaf ear to your inbox, phone calls, BBM, or even alarm that don’t really need your attention in the moment.

5. Tweak your movie time.
Stick to movies when you’re trying to maximise your time. A movie is longer, hence giving you a proper break, and you’re less likely to do them back to back.
